Proposed principles for the preparation, sourcing, presentation and correction of public material associated with AFZAL AND ASSOCIATES.
01 · Scope & status
Standards for public legal information
This proposed policy covers website pages, legal guides, research notes, news, glossaries, sample documents, media descriptions and related educational material. It is intended to guide editorial decisions after owner approval, not to describe every historical publication as already compliant.
Individual legal services, confidentiality arrangements and accepted professional work remain separate. This document does not replace the existing Legal Disclaimer, Privacy Policy or a matter-specific engagement.
Before adoption: confirm the responsible editorial arrangements, realistic source/review procedures and how requests will be handled. Approval of a design or preparation of HTML is not adoption or implementation of this policy.
02 · Source standards
Make the support traceable.
Appropriate authorities
Prioritise relevant legislation, gazettes, court decisions and competent authority or regulator material for the proposition being discussed. Distinguish an operative instrument from a draft, press item, FAQ or summary.
Date & legal status
Identify the relevant jurisdiction and date. Check commencement, amendments, repeal/savings and subsequent developments before describing a proposition as current.
Precise references
Record the source title, authority, instrument or case identity, provision/passage and online access details where appropriate. Do not invent reporter citations, source URLs or missing publication details.
Secondary material
Attribute commentary, books, articles and explanatory resources. Use them to develop understanding and locate authorities, without presenting a writer’s interpretation as the original legal text.
A government link or accurate citation does not alone prove that a statement applies to a particular person or matter. Missing, conflicting or unverified support should be disclosed rather than filled with an assumption.
03 · Presentation, attribution & tools
Keep different layers visibly distinct.
Text, translation & explanation
Separate original source text, unofficial translation, editorial explanation, research notes and hypothetical examples. Preserve relevant qualifications, provisos and historical-status markers when reproducing legal provisions.
Quotations & attribution
Quote accurately, mark omissions/additions and provide a relevant pinpoint. Identify paraphrases and respect applicable reuse/permission requirements. Do not manufacture endorsements, qualifications or case outcomes.
AI-assisted material
Where AI assists drafting, translation or retrieval, verify authorities, quotations and material factual/legal claims against appropriate sources before practical reliance. Do not imply human review occurred unless it actually did.
News & media labels
Distinguish reporting from commentary and firm announcements. Identify an actual recording, transcript or edited summary accurately; do not invent dates, speakers, durations, captions or review badges.
Under these proposed standards, material AI assistance or translation limitations that affect interpretation should be made clear. Confidential client or case information should not be disclosed through an unapproved tool or public example.
These are proposed editorial standards—not a claim that all existing articles have been independently fact-checked, translated in full, reviewed by a qualified advocate or audited against every subsequent legal change.
04 · Correction requests
Identify the issue and supporting source.
A reader may raise a concern through the existing contact routes below. Please provide:
- The page title or URL and exact passage, link or media item concerned.
- The issue: for example a factual error, inaccurate quotation, source mismatch, outdated status, broken link or misleading description.
- A concise explanation and any relevant official source, document reference or other evidence.
- A reply contact method if a response is requested; avoid unnecessary sensitive information.
Do not disclose private client facts, passwords, identity documents or confidential case files in a public comment or initial correction message. Confirm an appropriate method if sensitive material is genuinely needed.
Suggested email subject: “Editorial correction request” followed by the page title. No message is sent by this page, and no ticket, receipt, response deadline or acceptance is created by clicking a link.
Does a correction request guarantee a change, reply or deletion?
No. A concern needs assessment, and a request is not proof that an error exists. No automatic amendment, removal, review timetable or outcome is promised. Applicable rights or legal obligations, where relevant, require separate assessment.
Can I use this route for an urgent legal matter?
An editorial inquiry is not legal representation, filing or deadline protection. Seek direct professional advice for urgent matters instead of relying on a correction response.
05 · Proposed review & change record
Assess the issue before recording a correction.
Subject to adoption and actual arrangements, the proposed approach is:
- Identify: locate the material, concern, supporting source and relevant version.
- Assess: distinguish an error from a disagreement, changed law, missing context or a technical issue; seek appropriate review for material legal questions.
- Decide: consider a correction, clarification, status warning, source update, restriction or removal, as justified and authorised.
- Record: for a material change, make the nature and actual date clear where appropriate. Do not silently present a new legal position as the unchanged historical original.
Minor typographical or formatting edits may be treated differently from substantive legal changes. A publication date, modification date, legal-effective date and completed review date should not be used interchangeably.
No invented history: a correction note should describe what actually changed and when. A scheduled review, named reviewer, approval, effective date or completed audit should appear only when supported by the actual record.
Preserving a change record must take account of confidentiality and applicable obligations; it is not a promise to keep sensitive material publicly available or to retain data indefinitely.

Proposed policy—not a legal opinion or effective-policy notice
This draft is not yet an adopted policy, a certification of editorial compliance or advice on an individual matter. It does not replace applicable law, professional duties or accepted engagement terms. A request does not create representation, constitute filing or protect a time limit. No outcome is guaranteed.
